Join us at Warthen RV Park for a hands-on outdoor learning experience! Youth participants will explore gardening basics, plant their own seed to take home, discover local wildlife along our nature trail, and use the Merlin Bird ID app to identify birds in their natural habitat.

About the event
Youth Garden & Nature Experience
Warthen RV Park is excited to partner with the Summer Youth Initiative Program to provide a fun and educational outdoor experience focused on nature, gardening, and environmental discovery.
Participants will spend time in our community garden learning the basics of plant growth, healthy soil, and sustainable gardening practices. Each youth will have the opportunity to plant their own seed in a take-home container and begin their own growing journey.
The adventure continues with a guided walk along the Warthen RV Park Nature Trail, where participants will explore educational signs highlighting local plants, trees, wildlife, and natural habitats.
Youth will also get hands-on experience using the Merlin Bird ID app , a tool developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, to identify birds found throughout the park.
