5 Simple Reasons to Camp at Warthen RV Park This Summer

Looking to slow things down and breathe a little easier this summer? You’ll find just that at Warthen RV Park, nestled in the heart of Georgia’s countryside. Around here, life moves at a gentler pace—and that’s just how we like it. Whether you’re passin’ through or staying a while, we’ve got plenty of reasons to make Warthen your next stop.

1. A Quiet Country Setting That Feels Like Home

When you roll into Warthen, you’ll feel it right away—peace and quiet like no other. No traffic noise, no rush, just the soft rustle of trees and the sound of birds in the morning. Our park is tucked into a sweet spot where you can kick your feet up and forget what day it is.

And if you need a store run or a bite to eat, Sandersville’s just 10 minutes down the road with everything you might need.

2. Hooked Up and Ready for You

We believe camping should be easy, and that’s just what we aim to offer. Every site at Warthen RV Park comes with full hookups—water, sewer, and electric (50/30/20 amp)—so you can settle in without a fuss. Got a big rig? We’ve got room for you too.

We’re pet friendly, kid friendly, and just plain friendly. See what we offer here.

3. A Town Full of Stories

Warthen might be small, but it sure isn’t short on history. Take a walk down Main Street and you’ll pass by the Old Warthen Jail, historic churches, and stories from Georgia’s early days. Grab a map at the park and enjoy the Warthen Historic Walking Tour at your own pace.

Want to dig deeper? The folks over at the Washington County Historical Society in Sandersville would love to see you.

4. Open Roads, Fresh Air & Feathered Friends

Out here, there’s plenty of room to roam—and even more reason to look (and listen) up. Whether you’re walking, biking, or sipping coffee at your site, the skies around Warthen are alive with birdsong.

For families and nature lovers, we offer Merlin Bird ID posters by request—a fun, self-guided way to spot and learn about the birds that visit our park. Just ask our friendly camp host, Mr. Allen, and he’ll be glad to get one to you. Kids especially love checking off each bird they see!

You can also explore more with the free Merlin Bird ID app from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
